Six Flags Magic Mountain is once again unleashing Fright Fest this year and at Midsummer Scream 2026, creators of the event were on hand to tease some of the details for this year. This year, Final Destination: Devil’s Playground will be a new IP maze and Wolves Blood is a new original maze in collaboration with Knott’s Scary Farm. We also got details on returning and leaving experiences for this year.

Here’s a shriek peek at everything we learned about 2026 Six Flags Magic Mountain Fright Fest during Midsummer Scream.

What We Learned

Here’s some of the gory details of what we learned for this year’s event. The presentation was led by Entertainment Sr. Creative Mark Wing and Entertainment Manager Mike Ostrom. There was a special appearance by Gus Krueger from Knott’s Scary Farm to talk about a new maze and collaboration between the two parks.

Updates for Mazes
- Mazes NOT returning: SAW: Legacy of Terror, Truth or Dare, and Condemned.
- Final Destination: Death’s Playground maze is replacing Condemned… beware of the woodchippers!
- Wolves Blood is a new maze collaboration with Knott’s Scary Farm, replacing Truth or Dare
  - This new maze is being created in collaboration with Gus Krueger from Knott’s Scary Farm
  - There will be a preshow moment
  - Easter Eggs featuring Red’s Revenge and Rainbow Records
- The Conjuring Universe maze is receiving a complete revamp
- The Trick ‘r Treat maze is moving to the SAW location and receiving a glow up
- Other returning mazes include Willoughby’s Resurrected, Vault 666: Unlocked, and Carnage.
Updates for Scare Zones
- Unleashed scare zone is moving to the main gate, featuring a new overlord Kurvatu along with his minions — expanding the lore that Six Flags Magic Mountain has set to continue plussing across its event.
- Thunderbolt Alley will be getting major enhancements based on the successes seen in last year’s inaugural debut
- Scare Zones NOT returning: Grimmlore Ridge and Carnivhell
- Other returning scare zones include City Under Siege, Plaza de la Muerte, Devil’s Triangle, Exile Hill, Underworlds of Oz, Nightmares: Rein of Blood
Entertainment confirmations included…
- Sliders of the Night: Dreams of the Damned will bring more of the trademark fun to the evening festivities.
- Margo Rita and her Monster Ball is moving to the Gearworks Theater
  - Find new characters including a Werewolf named Kal and a new Monster beauty: Sangria Monae.
- Nytewalkers will perform at the Full Throttle Stage
