There is so much intrigue about the upcoming AVATAR expansion coming to Disney California Adventure and at 2026 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event you can get an up close look at a new model showcasing some of the magic that is in the works. A model showcases the new boat ride and offers a glimpse of how the land fits into the park with a peek at where the monorail will exist.

Here’s a look at what we got to see at the Imagineering: Horizons pavilion during 2026 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event (formerly D23 Expo) taking place from August 14 – 16, 2026.

What to Expect

There’s very little detail about what exactly to expect (and when) but the model showcases the same circular mountains as featured in AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER along with a lush robust world that promises waterfalls and water features, a boat ride, and even some nesting Banshees harkening back to the original AVATAR film.
