Knott’s Boysenberry Festival returns once again for the 2026 season and it’s bringing with it a whole fresh crop of food and entertainment options plus the return of the popular Boysenberry Festival Tasting Card. We visited opening weekend for a complete look at everything the event has to offer.

Food and Drink

The Knott’s Boysenberry Festival is largely centered around eating variations of Knott’s most famous berry. Ready to feast? If you’re getting a Tasting Card, you can choose from an assortment of unique items including The Boysenberry Brick, which is a fried brioche topped with jam and soft serve. You can find savory options like Spicy Boysenberry Bulgogi served over steamed rice or the Reuben Ball paired with a spicy boysenberry Thousand Island dressing. For more unconventional pairings, there is the Elote with boysenberry butter, the Boysenberry Shortcake Sushi Roll dessert, and thick-cut Boysenberry Glazed Candied Bacon On-A-Stick.

For a wider, unrestricted, experience you can enjoy those items a la carte plus opt for even more choices like Boysenberry Sausage Tater Tots with cheese and sautéed peppers or the Boysenberry Chili and Cheese Funnel Cake topped with boysenberry sour cream. You can also try the Boysenberry Chimichurri Cheeseburger or Deep-Fried Pickle Spears served with a boysenberry aioli. Other unique finds include Boysenberry Meatloaf served with boysenberry mashed potatoes and a Boysenberry Popping Pearl Milkshake.

Entertainment

During the day, Calico Park is jam-packed with wholesome old-fashioned fun for the littles and the young at heart with Boysen Bear’s Pie Kitchen Games. Join in to help Boysen Bear get everything ready with different activities throughout the day for this year’s doubleheader featuring both a Kid’s Pie Eating Contest and the main event Boysenberry Pie Eating Contest!

Plus, there are two fantastic entertainment offerings that will help you pace yourself while inhaling every possible form of boysenberry. At the Calico Mine Stage, find a berry special tribute to the park’s history through song and dance with Knott’s Preserved: A Musical Celebration. Meanwhile, at the Bird Cage Theatre find a smaller scale fun story in the classic melodramatic style with The Great Bank Robbery.

Exhibitions

There’s two special exhibitions paying tribute to the boysenberry. At the Factory Store near Beary Tales, find an art gallery with awesome curation of pieces created by local artists with Tied up in Knott’s: A Tribute to the Farm. If you’re wanting a more historical look back at the boysenberry, head towards the Ghost Town Town Hall for a retrospective video to learn more about the joyous berry at The History of the Boysenberry Exhibit!

Activities

Boysenberry Lane returns this year expanding the park’s footprint in Ghost Town with even more boysenberry activities, food, and shopping opportunities. You can also grab a boysenberry-shaped cookie from Cordelia’s Kitchen and get in on some Cookie Decorating with as much icing and sprinkles as you can tolerate! Or, for more a down-to-earth vibe, you can head to Old MacDonald’s Barn and connect with some farm animals.

Find a selection of adorable farmyard friends including horses, sheep, goats and more. They might be up for some petting, too!

Merch Run

A world of boysenberry themed items to purchase await. Aside from a huge roster treats, snacks, preserves, and other food items made with boysenberries, there’s also fun items in store to pick up and bring the festivities home — you can even purchase live boysenberry plants and grow your own! Plus, with the Boysenberry Festival Craft Fair around Ghost Town, find unique artisan products with dozens of local craft vendors bringing their own mix of boysenberry-themed items including food, apparel, home goods, and more.
