WICKED: FOR GOOD is ready to change your home entertainment collection…. well, yes, for good. With a hosted review copy of the film, we took at look at the film and its exclusive bonus content — including deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and a few other extras.

The digital and physical home release promise several bonus features including two versions of the movie with an exclusive sing-along, deleted scenes, and a 50+ minute look into the making of the movie with the cast and filmmakers. Plus, there’s several featurettes taking a closer look at all the inner workings of the wonderful world of Oz along with the addition of a commentary track with director Jon M. Chu.
The Making-Of documentary is such a welcome component that a lot of studios have seemingly done away with for their extras and this one is expansive with lots of great peeks. Not only that but there are individual featurettes going into the process of creating the two new original songs plus closer looks at how Chu wanted to craft this world. While the featurettes are slightly repetitive with the documentary, they do offer kindly-welcomed expansion on their respective topics. The Deleted Scenes are great — just wish we’d gotten more insights and context about the scenes but let’s not quarrel. Chu’s Director’s Commentary is also great, the anecdotes and peeks into the the thought process help offer glimpses into the insane task of adopting this second half of the story for the screen. Is the sum of all these parts everything we wanted in this release? Not quite, but there’s no place like home for this film and we’re glad to now have it as part of our collection.
