The digital and physical home release promise several bonus features including deleted scenes, in-depth making-of looks showcasing the visuals and stunts, a breakdown of the lightcycle sequences, and candid conversations with the cast. For collectors, a limited-edition SteelBook features custom artwork and packaging. Additionally, the TRON franchise 3-Movie Collection offers the entire evolution of the Grid in one bundle.
This home release showcases in its extra content the passion and love for this decades-long franchise from both cast and crew. Despite the tepid fan reaction at the box office for this latest venture, the foundation of this film comes from people who truly love this IP. You might have seen many a soundbite of the film’s lead Jared Leto saying that he’s a TRON super fan. The making-of documentary also reflects this, coming across like a vintage-style behind-the-scenes movie magic special — there’s great insights and reveals with looks not just at expected junket interviews and behind-the-scenes footage but also concept art and custom graphics made for this piece.
Additional featurettes expand on the themes with much-appreciated closer looks at other facets of this film including lightcycles, art direction, music, and the overall legacy. The final feature also has a fun early 2000s vibe giving a peek at easter eggs and fun facts within the film. We truly were fully satisfied and honestly impressed with what was bundled in here, it’s a great mix.
