Mary – The Haunting of Worth Home (NEW)
RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
REVIEW: We love to see a new maze hit out of the park and this one delivers. Bloody Mary is such a classic urban legend and horror story and seeing it brought to life with all the expected visuals from the story was a true delight… and mirrors. So many mirrors. It reminded us a bit of how the Monstruous mazes at Universal bring to life La Llorona and other famous Latin American terrors. Lots of fun scares here and the scenics are great. It feels like you’re fully walking through a fully realized house from tart to finish. Very reminiscent of dearly departed Trick or Treat which also occupied this space. Even though we had several pileups of stop and go traffic, it was still fun to see this story come to life.
SYNOPSIS: Venture into that creepy house at the end of the street. Within the walls hides a terrifying secret. No one foolish enough to go in there has ever come back out alive. But I’m sure this time it will be different, right? Be careful not to stare into the mirrors too long…you never know what’s staring back from the other side.
Cinema Slasher
RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
REVIEW: Sometimes you just want to sit back and enjoy your favorite slasher films and it’s a delight to see these stories come to life each year with the iconic Cinema Slasher character. Walking through horror movie tropes with a very tropey villain who wants nothing more than to hear you scream, it’s just haunted house perfection. One note. We need much more Stabby.
SYNOPSIS: Embark on a journey through the Midnight Theater, entering horror film worlds where you must survive the deadly Slasher’s rage. Can you escape these movie nightmares, or will you be trapped among decaying corpses in the ruined theatre? The sinister Midnight Theater beckons the brave into Cinema Slasher.
Eight Fingers Nine: The Boogeyman
RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃⚫
REVIEW: Last year, our walkthrough of this house in it’s debut was so slow and crowded and it made for a pretty unenjoyable experience in all the wrong ways. While we did get a little bit of back up this year, we were still able to get some space in-between the scares and it made all the difference for taking in the details and absorbing the story beats. Some of our best scares of the night were in here. And apparently the boogeyman is tatted. Sick.
SYNOPSIS: Step inside a living fairy tale in a colonial township that’s under siege by an inhuman monster that preys from the dark. As night descends, Eight Fingers Nine emerges from the shadows in search of fresh meat. His vicious bite penetrates deep, causing sleep paralysis which holds his victim in sway while he slowly consumes their flesh. Step lively and beware the dark, or you may be the main course at his next meal!
Origins: The Curse of Calico
RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃⚫
REVIEW: She hasn’t lost her shimmer however, while we still love this ultimate tribute to Knott’s haunt history, she’s starting to feel her age and not in an ol’ western type of way. The old gal is getting a little long in the tooth but it’s not quite time to take her out back just yet. This witch isn’t gonna go without fight. What we’d love to ese is not an origin story for our witch but let’s see her in a new tory wreaking absolute havoc. Put us under her spell and take us into some 70s style psychedelics.
SYNOPSIS: Pierce the veil of time and discover the secret of the evil fog that hangs over Knott’s Scary Farm in Origins: The Curse of Calico. Unearth the sinister paranormal activity that plagues the town as Sarah Marshall is put on trial for her suspected crimes of witchcraft. All will be unveiled when the Green Witch rises up and curses the townsfolk, transforming all who have accused her into a wicked horde of malicious creatures with an eternal quench for the living.
The Grimoire (FINAL YEAR)
RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃⚫
REVIEW: Since its first debut, this maze has always hit the right vibe for us. A little bit of Goonies and Stranger Things mixed in with a time trippy voyage through a cursed book. It’s a super fun concept that could even possibly make a fun translation to actual big or small screen. At any rate, in her final voyage through the fog, we had a blast.
SYNOPSIS: Turn the page and enter the world of an ancient relic whose dark stories exist purely to turn your greatest nightmares into a reality. Try to escape the horror of the evil creatures released by the mysterious book, or have your soul eternally trapped within the pages of the next chapter!
The Zoo (NEW)
RATING: 🎃🎃🎃⚫⚫
REVIEW: Perhaps cursed by the prior inhabitants of this space, the maze felt oddly reminiscent of Wax Works in that it was immensely creepy, well-conceived, and yet still not necessarily a top hitter of the night. I was hoping for some really interesting animal hybrids and there’s some truly messed up science experiments here but this one didn’t feel super memorable on our walk through.
SYNOPSIS: Something has taken over the abandoned zoo. What was once a lively showcase of exotic animals has been transformed into a terrifying laboratory of animal/human experiments. Hybrid creatures have turned on their creators, and the compound is crawling with mutant soldiers thirsty for revenge. Rumors are swirling that the mutated monsters are planning something that will change everything!
Mesmer (FINAL YEAR)
RATING: 🎃🎃🎃⚫⚫
REVIEW: This is a really fun one because it’s so cerebral and intentionally confusing. Professor Mesmer has you under his hypnotic trance and the frights he is able to unlock are both mystifying and terrifying. A true creepy carnie delight that fits perfectly within its Boardwalk setting. In its final year our walkthrough was a little light on scare actors but that felt like a trend for the whole night in all mazes.
SYNOPSIS: Within the canvas tent lies the secret of the most potent force in the universe: the human mind. Give in and succumb to the hypnotist Mesmer and his sinister sideshow, as it pries on your hidden fears. Release your inner thoughts and descend into a world of madness, torture, and eerie enlightenment. There you will uncover the grotesque secrets hidden as you brave through the most terrifying show ever created.
Widows
RATING: 🎃🎃🎃⚫⚫
REVIEW: This maze is clearly not a huge hit as we consistently saw it several times over the course of the night with the shortest waits. Still, there’s some fun visuals here and some opportunities for good scares as the voyage devolve from a decrepit arachnid-infested nursing home into the cavernous den of the wicked queen spider.
SYNOPSIS: Can you hear that? The spider possessed residents of the convalescent home are preparing a special place for you. Enter their web and succumb to their dark desires.
The Chilling Chambers
RATING: 🎃🎃⚫⚫⚫
REVIEW: As a love letter to the 50th anniversary of Knott’s Scary Farm when it debuted in 2023, this was a true highlight but since then this has felt a little like a hodge podge, especially after it lost its throughline with the Kreeper as our host. It’s not a bad maze but the disjointed nature of this one feels like surfing through a greatest hits playlist without ever settling on anything satisfying.
SYNOPSIS: Venture into a hellish trip down memory lane in The Chilling Chambers. Guided by the menacing Crimson Lord, you’ll face a collection of the most infamous monsters and themes from Knott’s Scary Farm’s horrific history! Each room reveals a different flavor of horror, drawing you deeper into a world filled with terror. Can you survive the Crimson Lord’s twisted tribute through the decades of fear, or will you become a permanent part of this macabre celebration?
Room 13
RATING: 🎃⚫⚫⚫⚫
REVIEW: While this has been a consistently solid maze for us the past few years, we found it to be incredibly lackluster on our walkthrough this time. Not much has changed here but our walkthrough felt almost completely devoid of scare actors. Making matters worse, the conga line through the whole thing was almost consistently backed up into the slowest stop and go traffic we’ve ever had in a maze.
SYNOPSIS: Violent murders at The Blind Tiger interrupt the Prohibition-era revelry on Memory Lane. A dangerously addictive new cocktail named The Devil’s Elixir seems to be at the root of the mayhem, but where did it come from? The answers may lie at the heart of the extravagant Argive Hotel, where many have checked in… but none have checked out.
