The personalized decorative window was unveiled in a private ceremony on July 13, 2025, which would have marked Walt and Lillian Disney’s 100th wedding anniversary. This tradition of honoring individuals with a window on Main Street, USA is one of the highest distinctions within The Walt Disney Company. Lillian Disney played a quiet, yet influential, role in her husband’s career, serving as his trusted confidante and offering insights that guided important decisions. For instance, she is famously responsible for helping walt name Mickey Mouse. A classic Mickey Mouse plush can be seen here propped up on a chair. Nearby, a piece of sheet music is propped near a violin featuring the melody for the song “Married Life” from Disney-Pixar’s UP.

The new display highlights Lillian’s passions for flowers and antiques with fictional business advertised in the window being “Lilly’s Bountiful Blooms: Flowers and Fancies, Inspiring Words of Color and Happiness.” The window is a direct tribute to her lifelong love of gardening, a feat that often comes into play when Walt Disney famously ripped up some of her gardens to build the miniature railroads that many argue were a pre-cursor to his ideas for Disneyland. The distinctive honor to have a window now permanently celebrates the legacy of Lillian Bounds Disney and her support and contribution to the history of Disneyland.
