The World of Color Happiness! nighttime spectacular is a colorful and fun addition to the evenings at Disney California Adventure during the Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration. As has been the case for several years now, virtual queue will be used to manage guest flow in the main viewing areas.
Here’s everything you need to know about seeing World of Color Happiness! during Disneyland 70th Anniversary Celebration at Disney California Adventure.
How to Join the Virtual Queue
In order to secure a Virtual Queue for World of Color Happiness! you will need your park tickets already linked to your Disney account AND have a valid theme park reservation. You will be able to access primary viewing areas for the show through a virtual queue system available only via the Disneyland app.
To grab your Virtual Queue:
- Open the Disneyland App and make sure you are signed in.
- From the Disneyland App home screen, you will see your theme park reservation. Make sure your tickets are also linked.
- Distribution for the complimentary Virtual Queue will begin at 12:00 PM noon, daily (subject to availability), and is available for guests who have entered Disney California Adventure park for the day OR have entered Disneyland park with a Park Hopper ticket.
- A minute before noon when the Virtual Queue enrollment begins, open the Virtual Queue section for World of Color — ONE in the app. On nights when there are multiple showtimes, distribution for additional showtimes will begin immediately after distribution for the first showtime has ended.
- If you have obtained a virtual queue selection, enter your designated viewing area for your designated show time via one of the two marked entrance points (Blue or Yellow) approximately 30-45 minutes before the show begins.
Standby Access
Joining the virtual queue for World of Color is not required to view the spectacular, but it is highly recommended. Additional viewing for each performance is located around Paradise Bay on a first-come, first-served basis.
If the virtual queue reaches capacity, check in with a cast member at the Paradise Bay viewing area shortly before World of Color Happiness! begins for walk-up viewing options. Joining the virtual queue is not required, but it is highly recommended as walk-up viewing options for each performance are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
About the Show
- The excitement kicks off before the show begins, with a special pre-show moment with over a dozen of The Muppets. Through dazzling projections and lively fountains, Joe the Legal Weasel leads Kermit the Frog and the other Muppets in sharing important details with the audience in a clever and humorous way.
- The nighttime spectacular explores “happy” from start to finish, through a kaleidoscope of emotions. Guests discover that happiness is made up of many different, colorful feelings, and Disneyland Resort is the magical place where they all come together.
- Alongside classic Disney songs, a special rendition of “Rainbow Connection” sung by Boyz II Men will be heard during the show. FITZ – frontman and namesake of multi-platinum hitmakers Fitz and the Tantrums – also recorded a new original song titled “Makes Me Wanna Move.”

Ahead of the first performance of the night, Disney California Adventure Park guests will have the opportunity to vote on which one of four Emotions from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Inside Out 2” will be featured in certain scenes throughout the nighttime spectacular. Voters can pick Sadness, Anger, Disgust or Envy on the Disneyland app.*
- Guests wearing MagicBand+ will notice its vibrations and glittering lights are synchronized with different points in the show, making the experience even more interactive. Those without a MagicBand+ may choose to purchase a special design created for the 70th celebration.
- Disney stories represented in the show include “The Little Mermaid,” “Turning Red,” “A Goofy Movie,” “Tangled,” “Encanto,” “Toy Story,” “Aladdin,” “Cinderella,” “Snow White,” “Lilo and Stitch” and many more.
- The upbeat soundtrack of “World of Color Happiness!” incorporates songs such as “Bundle of Joy,” “Nobody Like You,” “True to Your Heart,” “This Wish,” “I’ve Got a Dream,” “How Far I’ll Go,” “Surface Pressure” and more.
