Perhaps the least documented portion of Universal Fan Fest Nights 2025 is the Block Party concept at Universal Plaza and we’re happy to try and help demystify the offering. This is a celebration of all fandoms and we’ve got a full look a look what’s going on in this area.

With hosted tickets, we were given access to the park to uncover all the fun for ourselves. Here’s a look at everything you need to know about the Block Party at Universal Plaza for Universal Fan Fest Nights 2025 at Universal Studios Hollywood.

What to Expect

This is a general fan zone where all of the evening’s themes come together in a single place. On opening weekend, there were not many details but since then Universal has updated schedule information.

Flux Capacitors

  • A fantastic band playing retro and nostalgia hits to blast across the Back to the Future multiversal timeline.
  • SCHEDULE: 9:30 PM, 10:30 PM, 11:30 PM, 12:30 AM

Fan Meet Ups

  • Themed sessions that feature Trivia, Group Photo, and Cosplay Celebration (not a contest) surrounding a singular fandom genre.
  • SCHEDULE:
    • 9 PM – Gaming Fan Meet Up
    • 10 PM – Anime Fan Meet Up
    • 11 PM – Fantasy Fan Meet Up
    • 12 AM – Sci-Fi Fan Meet Up

  • A nice focal backdrop for some great colorful photos but no Team Members that we saw on hand to take photos for you.

Share a Coke Lounge

  • Featured some tables and couches to relax
  • There was a photo backdrop with two giant prop Coke cans and a director’s clap board promoting the lounge and Fan Fest Nights.
  • There were no photographers, Team Members, or Coke reps in the area. We figured possibly they might be giving away freebies at some point but there’s no indication of that on our walk throughs.

Coke Game Lounge

  • A separate dedicated space featuring corn hole tables. However, there were no bean bags we could find and nobody working this area either. Ghost town vibes continued.

Thoughts

It seems like this entire concept was created specifically to be sponsored but having only a Coke zone, the full execution seems half formed. Still, the band is a solid offering worthy of a visit into the area.

Additional character meet and greets (or just roaming for a Dance Party vibe) would make this a more popular spot — characters are an easy way to get people in a line, especially characters that don’t come out often. But, honestly, even throwing Shrek and Minions in here would have made sense.

Hopefully some fine-tuning will get this area on track. Otherwise, there’s very little pomp or circumstance to this offering.

Universal Fan Fest Nights tickets range from the cheapest option at $74 for General Admission (offering entry to the event) to the most expensive option at $373 for the VIP Tour (which includes a guided tour, unlimited express access, private trolley transport, gourmet dinner, and valet parking). Mid-range options offer a combination of daytime park admission with limited express access to rides and attractions, plus evening event access with early entry to select experiences.
