Video Recap
Check out our video shared to social media offering a super quick look at the main highlights for what you can experience during the Holidays Made Here experience featuring the Gilmore Girls.
What to Expect
Holidays Made Here is the name of all the seasonal offerings to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood. It is not a separate event per se. Instead, this is included as part of all of the regular studio tour offerings. If you’ve been following MouseInfo this past year, we have explored a few tour different options that the WB offers. To enjoy all the holiday festivities, you simply need to book ANY tour — that can be the cheapest Standard Tour ($73 per person) up to the ritziest Deluxe Tour ($330 per person).
Your day will begin with the regular studio offerings that you’ve booked. Sometimes that will be a special sweet start in a green room if you’ve booked a VIP or TCM Classics Tour or heading straight to the screening room and onto a tour cart with a Standard Tour. Either way, you’ll embark on the guided portion of your tour which will then end at the Stage 48: Script to Screen experience which you can explore at your own pace. After that, you’ll be on your way out onto a walkway where you can access Midwest Street where all of the Gilmore Girls offerings have been setup.
More than a fair amount of the exteriors seen in the show’s fictional Stars Hollow, Connecticut were filmed right on the backlot and you’ll be able to explore those spaces however you wish. Along the way, you’ll find Warner Bros have taken a lot of care to recreate set dressings from iconic settings in the show as well as various photo-ops and activities plus shopping and dining opportunities in the town’s charming storefronts. You can explore these offerings at your own pace — depending on your interest level, you could quite literally start with the earliest tour at 9am and end when the gift shop closes its doors at 7pm. We’ve heard of some super fans spending upwards of 5 hours or more soaking in all of the details.
After you’ve had your fill of Stars Hollow, make sure to budget time into your day to check out the final leg of the tour, Action and Magic, where you’ll find a bit more movie-making magic and experiences. From there, you’ll exit out into the lobby Gift Shop, concluding your day!
Event Highlights
Throughout the Holidays Made Here event, you’ll find a bunch of unique walk-throughs, experiences, activities, shopping, dining and more. Here’s a few of the highlights that fans of the Gilmore Girls will not want to miss.
The Gazebo
Centrally pivotal to iconic moments from the show, the gazebo still exists in Warner Bros. Midwest Street backlot surrounded by a park which is an offshoot to several locations in Stars Hollow. You can snap photos at the gazebo which has been dressed up for the holidays including a dusting of screen-ready faux-snow and the Björk snow figure not too far away.
Lorelai’s House
While the interiors of Lorelai’s house were filmed on soundstages, the exterior is right here on Midwest Street and as a super fun fact, the opposite side of the House was actually Sookie’s House on the show. One building, two homes! From Lorelai’s side of the house, you can step foot inside to see a few set recreations of the home’s living room as well as Rory’s bedroom. Then, step onto the porch for some shopping or into the barn for some libations.
