The magical musical ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party is back again, poised as a crown jewel of the overall Festival of Holidays entertainment offerings at Disney California Adventure for the 2024 season of the Disney Holidays. Mickey, Minnie Donald, Jose Carioca and Panchito are ready for a festive holiday celebration. Despite drastic cuts to the number of performances this year, the show is a classic.

About the Show

The colorful street party features the Three Caballeros — better known individually as Donald Duck, Panchito and Jose Carioca. Together, the band of brothers in music enchant the Paradise Gardens area with sounds from Mexico and Brazil for a beautiful pageant of multicultural musical magic. Authentic folklórico dancers, mariachis, Brazilian samba dancers, drummers and giant 12-foot-tall mojiganga puppets of Santa and Mrs. Claus are part of the festivities. Plus, Mickey and Minnie join in for a joyous finale that will have you humming the iconic songs for the rest of the day.

The show features an original titular theme called ¡Viva Navidad! which is based off of the snog “Wonderful Christmastime” by Paul McCartney. Two other songs featured in the soundtrack include “Jarabe Tapatio” (better known as the Mexican Hat Dance) and the celebrational Brazilian song “Magalenha” to pay tribute to samba music. These two songs eventually blend naturally together for an explosion of shared cultural fun. The fusion of these sounds serves as the transition into the finale which features the song “Feliz Navidad” by Jose Feliciano before blending back into the show’s main theme, “¡Viva Navidad!,” which welcomes a giant release of snowflake confetti.

How To Watch

Performances take place multiple times per day along the Performance Corridor between Jumpin’ Jellyfish and Paradise Gardens. Typical showtimes are 12:10pm, 1:10pm, 2:10pm, 3:45pm, 4:45pm and 5:45pm but always check the Disneyland app on the day of your visit.

For the best seats in the house, you’ll want to stand immediately next to Bayside Brews across from the Paradise Gardens dining area. This year, due to the limited number of performances, many fans will arrive upwards of 60 minutes or more to score the best spots in the tiny viewing area.

Unfortunately, Disney has made major cutbacks to the number for performances of this fan-favorite show. It is now only performed weekends for a total of 16 days during the entire Disney Holidays season. You can see the full schedule of dates below.
