Ray’s Berets is ready to light up your look with accessories and headwear in the Bayou Country area of Disneyland. You can stop on by before or after visiting Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to find the latest hats, ears, and more.
Here’s everything you need to know about Ray’s Berets at Disneyland.
About the Shop
As you venture down into Bayou Country, one of the first sights you’ll see is this shop offering a fun selection of headwear, apparel, accessories, toys and more. Literally nestled into the mountain peak behind it, the shop pays homage to the firefly Raymond and his firefly kin featured in The Princess and the Frog. This shop replaces the former Briar Patch shop which sold similar types of merchandise.
The new sign features a painting of Ray as well as a selection of several hats strewn across the marquee. On the inside, blue lanterns fill the space and a new immersive window offers a look out on the bayou where you might catch a few magical sights move past including, of course, fireflies! Occasionally, you may spot the spirit of Raymond amongst the bayou mist spelling out his name in glowing light before he flies off and resumes his spot up in the sky next to his beloved, Evangeline.
Ray’s Berets is located just across from the entrance of the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree.
Merch Highlights
For now, the shop doesn’t offer any specific Tiana’s Bayou Adventure merchandise. While it carries the banner of being a space dedicated to headwear, you’ll also find a small (but helpful) selection of items to help if your bayou adventures see you getting more wet than you expected. Aside from souvenir hats to keep your head warm you’ll also find more modestly priced simple items such as beanies and gloves, as well as a towels, socks, and various sundries.
Photos
Below are some of the highlights of fun details in the shop including a framed wooden portrait of Raymond the firefly with his beloved Evangeline in the evening sky. An adorable little Jar Sweet Jar can be found on the mantel that is presumably the former home of the late lovestruck firefly.
Raymond also makes an appearance in the bayou window in his star form as seen at the end of The Princess and the Frog. Occasionally, he seemingly comes down from the sky as his star disappears and he seems to flit through the gaseous bayou air to spell out his name and a glowing heart before resuming his spot in the sky. Several other fun carvings and details in the shop pay homage to Ray and his firefly kin. Someone has also knitted a needlepoint heart with the names of Ray and Evangeline.
The small shop continues to be filled with charm in a whole new way. Various jars hide firefly-sized mementos, furniture and pieces, light by both blue and warm glowing lanterns.
