It was teased before but now at the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event it was officially confirmed that an Indiana Jones replacement for the Dinosaur attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is officially coming!
Here’s everything we learned at the Disney Experiences Showcase at the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
The showcase for Disney Experiences at the Honda Center was hosted Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences (AKA head of Parks and Resorts) who shared that the new 11-acre Pueblo Esperanza land will be replacing Dinoland USA.
- Pueblo Esperanza will be part of the previously announced Tropical Americas area of the park. Just like the Harambe area, this land promises to feel lived in, with a long, rich history.
- A large hacienda which become one of the largest quick-service restaurants in all of Walt Disney World Resort.
- Expect a lush and sprawling space featuring a large fountain in the center where the villagers like to gather and tell stories.
- Three attractions will bring life to this area
- A woodcarver has created a giant working carousel featuring his favorite animals from Disney stories. It’s a new take on a classic attraction that young families are going to love.
- Indiana Jones has discovered a Mayan temple and stories of a mythic beast may prove to be more than just ancient legend
- Deep in the Colombian jungles Casita from ENCANTO will welcome visitors on family-friendly adventure
Construction on the land is set to begin this fall and will open in 2027. A closing date for Dinoland USA and its existing offerings has not yet been announced.
