Disney confirmed today that it will acquire the final chunk of the 33% stake in Hulu from Comcast. The Walt Disney Company already owns a controlling interest of roughly 2/3 of the popular streaming platform.
The Mouse anticipates the transaction to be completed during the 2024 calendar year which will see Disney shelling out approximately $8.61 billion to NBCU for the remaining ownership interest in the company.
The full amount is roughly a third of Hulu’s total valuation of $27.5 billion dollars. The final price tag may be higher pending an assessment of the company’s total value as of September 30, 2023.
