When we stayed at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, we were captivated by the interactive in-room menu that defaults when you turn on your television. Similar to what guests find at Walt Disney World, this set of menus features information and entertainment ready at the press of a few buttons on the remote control.

The television in our room in December 2021 was a 55″-inch Samsung 690U Series hospitality television offering 4K UHD resolution plus HDR10+ picture technology. On the main menu, you’ll find your room number and name on the screen plus a quick glance at the date, time, and weather. Soft gentle Hawaiian music plays on a gentle loop that we actually enjoyed so much we would leave it on this menu while we were on the room.

From this main menu, options to interact include Watch TV (which will take you into the regular cable channel rotation) plus Disney on Demand, Connect my Device, At Aulani Resort, Around the Island, and Settings.

You can use the Connect My Device feature on the television to easily connect your wireless devices. If you prefer a wired connection, there’s a drawer that pops open on the dresser under the television to reveal a built-in console offering digital video in HDMI, PC video in VGA, plus video and audio RCA. The back of the television also features additional HDMI and USB connectivity.

The At Aulani Resort menu features top level information about various features of the Resort including a daily schedule plus information in dining, shops, pools, beach activities, entertainment & activities, spa & fitness, and guest services.

The Disney on Demand menu includes several family-fun options including Meet Disney+ (literally just an ad to tune into Channel 53 which features more ads for the popular streaming service plus previews of select Disney+ content on a rotating schedule) and Disney Vacations (another ad promoting Disney Adventures by Disney, Disney Weddings, and Disney Vacation Club memberships).

The Bedtime Stories portal offers a bevy of options from animated Disney tales to more theme-appropriate tales of Hawaiian lore told by some of Aulani’s friendly Aunty’s and Uncles.

Additional helpful menus accessible on the television include Programs & Events with a look at the goings on at Aulani plus Disney Learning which features infotainment features and more ads for various Disney products.
