One of our favorite parts about the #DisneyHolidays for the past few years has been the festive ¡VIVA NAVIDAD! event that takes over the already beautiful Paradise Garden area.

The boring Mediterranean menu is spiced up with some classic dishes from Latin American cuisine while the whole area is decorated with colorful decorations and filled with treats, activities, live entertainment and more that will ensure a Feliz Navidad.

STREET PARTY

By far the headlining offering for Viva Navidad is the Street Party that takes place several times per day.

THE FOOD

Al Pastor Tortas, Barbacoa Sopes, Chicken Mole are just some of the tempting dishes that will bring a taste of home for those who grew up with Latin American cooking. Sure, it’s theme park food produced at mass scale but the flavors are spot on and a fantastic variation to chimichangas, burgers and turkey legs.

Sopes de Barbacoa

New this year, Disney has taken the regular ears of corn that they already sell throughout the parks and added a little combo packet with mayo, tajin and parmesan for a traditional Mexican variation to corn on the cob… it’s called Elote (Spanish for corn.) There’s also helado ice cream bars in flavors of mango and coconut.

2015 Merchandise

New designs released on a few select pieces plus an awesome ornament with Donald on it.

MEET THE CHARACTERS

The three caballeros (Donald Duck, Jose Carioca and Pancho Pistolas) can usually be seen doing a set of greets with fans immediately following each Street Party performance. They typically alternate their sets with Mickey and Minnie (dressed in their Latin American finery) or with Goofy.

MORE TO EXPLORE

There’s also live entertainment, arts and crafts and the festive decor to help set the tone for Viva Navidad.

THE END!

A Christmas Fantasy Parade and World of Color – Winter Dreams also return once again this year for the 2015 Holiday season. Traditional favorites such as “it’s a small world” Holiday, VIVA NAVIDAD and Olaf’s Snow Fest in Disney California Adventure also make their return. (More on those soon.)

Holidays at the Disneyland Resort take place this year November 13 through January 6, 2016!
