A fun array of Disney friends are now appearing at Disney California Adventure for the the 2026 Lunar New Year and we’ve got a look at all the festivities taking place. From Horace Horsecollar making a special debut in his Lunar New Year outfit to other favorite characters, there’s a bunch of friends waiting to say hello!

Here’s a look at all the characters might see during the 2026 Lunar New Year Celebration at Disney California Adventure.

What to Expect

A bunch of Disney friends are on hand to celebrate the Lunar New Year. All around the park you never know who you might see including Mickey and Minnie in their colorful outfits inspired by traditional Korean attire. Plus, Mulan and Mushu are also ready to greet guests and strike a pose along with Horace Horsecollar who is celebrating the Year of the Horse this year an an oufit inspired by traditional Chinese attire.

Other friends you can spot include Meilin “Mei” Lee from Disney-Pixar’s TURNING RED in red panda form plus Donald and Daisy, Chip and Dale Goofy and more — some just might only be in the cavalcade. Details on how to find each of them can be found below.

Where to Find Characters

You’ll always want to check the Disneyland app on the day of your visit for the latest information on where to find characters. You can also check at the locations below with Cast Members for more specific information about who may be available for the day and what times they will be available.

Mickey and Minnie

Dressed up in their Lunar New Year outfits inspired by Korean traditional attire, Mickey and Minnie can usually be found at the Paradise Gardens gazebo — near Paradise Garden Grill. They may be doing greets alone or together and they will usually be alternating their appearances with other characters in this location.

You might also spot them on Buena Vista Street in their regular outfits.

Mulan and Mushu

You can expect to find Mulan and Mushu at the Paradise Gardens gazebo — near Paradise Garden Grill. They may be doing greets alone or together and they will usually be alternating their appearances with other characters in this location.

Their appearance is a special treat as they are not normally available for regular meet and greets at any other time of the year.

Horace Horsecollar

Horace Horsecollar is making appearances, dressed up in a snazzy Lunar New Year outfit at a dedicated meet and greet setup on San Francisco Street near the restrooms by Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. He will usually be alternating appearances at this location with other characters.

This appearance is a special treat as this character is not usually available for regular meet and greets at any other time of the year.

Red Panda Mei

Head to the Pixar Pier Band Shell near the Pixar Pal-Around to see various characters including Meilin “Mei” Lee TURNING RED in her full red panda form!

Donald and Daisy

Dressed up in their Lunar New Year outfits inspired by Chinese traditional attire, Donald and Daisy can usually be found at a dedicated meet and greet setup on San Francisco Street near the restrooms by Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. They may be doing greets alone or together and they will usually be alternating their appearances with other characters . They will typically appear at this location on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

You might also spot them on Buena Vista Street in their regular year-round outfits.

Goofy and Clarabelle Cow

Dressed up in their Lunar New Year outfits inspired by Vietnamese traditional attire, Goofy and Clarabelle can usually be found at a dedicated meet and greet setup on San Francisco Street near the restrooms by Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. They may be doing greets alone or together and they will usually be alternating their appearances with other characters. They will typically appear at this location on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

You might also spot them on Buena Vista Street in their regular year-round outfits.

Chip and Dale

Chip and Dale can be seen wearing adorable Lunar New Year outfits in this year’s Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession. They are not available for regular meet and greets.
