Disney previously announced World of Color Happiness coming to Disney California Adventure with the characters from INSIDE OUT leading the charge but today we got some details of what we can expect in the new nighttime spectacular including new songs by Boyz II Men as well as Fitz, plus the inclusion of the Muppets!

Here’s everything we know so far about World of Color Happiness at Disney California Adventure for the Disneyland 70th Anniversary celebration.

The show promises a dazzling musical array featuring classic Disney songs and other iconic favorites but will also be complemented by two new songs including one by Boyz II Men performing a new rendition of “Rainbow Connection” and a new original song just for the show titled “Makes Me Wanna Move.”  by FITZ (frontman and namesake of multi-platinum hitmakers Fitz and the Tantrums)

The show will also begin with a special message from Joe the Legal Weasel and more than a dozen of The Muppets who will deliver their message through vivid projections and expressive fountains ahead of the show.

What to Expect

  • Inspired comes from Walt Disney’s words from the opening day park dedication from seven decades ago: “To all who come to this happy place… welcome!”
  • The nighttime spectacular will explore “happy” through a kaleidoscope of emotions.
  • Expect the trademark array of signature fountains, dynamic lighting, colorful lasers, fog and dramatic flame effects

  • The show will be hosted by Joy and the other Emotions from Pixar Animation Studios’ INSIDE OUT and INSIDE OUT 2.

  • The Emotions manifest music and moments from favorite Walt Disney Animation Studios’ and Pixar Animation Studios’ stories, including TURNING RED, THE INCREDIBLES, A GOOFY MOVIE, TANGLED, ENCANTO, THE LION KING, and more.
  • In addition to featuring classic Disney songs and other iconic favorites, Boyz II Men have created a new rendition of “Rainbow Connection” and FITZ — frontman for Fitz and the Tantrums — created a new original song just for the show titled “Makes Me Wanna Move.”
  • The show will feature an intro with special message from Joe the Legal Weasel and more than a dozen of The Muppets who will deliver their message through vivid projections and expressive fountains ahead of the show.
  • The concept art released for the show also features characters from THE LITTLE MERMAID, WISH, FROZEN, and ENCANTO.
