As previously confirmed at D23 2024 earlier this year, the new Walt Disney – A Magical Life show will soon be sharing space with Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln in a new show and we now now it will be opening officially at the Main Street Opera House on May 16, 2025 as part of the official start of the Disneyland 70th Anniversary.

What to Expect

Disney promises the attraction will feature a cinematic presentation of Walt Disney’s journey, culminating in a visit with Walt in his office, brought to life for the first time ever through the magic of Audio-Animatronics storytelling.

Disney also confirmed that they are working with members of the Disney family to create a respectful and faithful version of the historic figure.

Without sharing specifics, Disney has also confirmed that after the initial debut of Walt Disney – A Magical Life that the attraction will play in rotation with “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.” If you look closely at the concept art, you can see the set pieces for both Walt and Mr. Lincoln are seeming set on rotating turntables that will likely be used to alternate between shows.

The idea of a show with a turntable also evokes memories of other Disney classic attractions such as America Sings and Carousel of Progress which utilized rotating sets with animatronics to create surprising and engaging storytelling experiences.
