Here’s everything to know about Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate The Musical World of Coco! at Disney California Adventure.

Not much different from previous versions of the show, the updated version sees two storytellers along with their troupe taking a musical voyage through Disney-Pixar’s COCO. It all begins with a short procession from the Pixar Pier parade gate and leads over to the typical viewing area at the entrance into Plaza de la Familia at Paradise Gardens. Rather than tell the story from the film, the updated show runs through the various songs (including “La Llorona” which doesn’t usually get a lot of rep) that were featured in the animated classic. A hand-operated Miguel puppet is still used to bring the lead character to life — along with a few other whimsical surprises — before a rousing finale of “The World Es Mi Familia” finishes out the show.

If you want to score a spot for this show, we recommend arriving at least 20 minutes before show time — longer if you are picky about the exact spot you want. Keep in mind that shade during the earlier performances in the day is virtually non-existent and the sun shines bright (and very hot) in this part of the park.

Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate The Musical World of Coco! is performed at the Plaza de la Familiar at Disney California Adventure several times per day, it runs for approximately 15 minutes. Typical showtimes are 12:00 PM, 1:00 PM, 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM , and 4:30 PM but always check the Disneyland app for the latest details. The show is only available for a limited time during Halloween Time 2024.
