Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is getting its first major update at Disneyland with the confirmation that a brand new adventure aboard the Millennium Falcon will be coming inspired by the events of the upcoming THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU film.

Here’s everything we learned about the updates to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run at the Disney Experiences Showcase at the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

The showcase for Disney Experiences at the Honda Center was hosted Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences (AKA head of Parks and Resorts). Along with Lucasfilm EVP and Chief Creative Officer Dave  Filoni, they confirmed big changes in a Galaxy not so far away.

The year 2026 will be an epic one for fans of the Mandoverse as it’s not only when the new film will come out in theaters but also when the updated attraction will touch down at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The changes will be coming to both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. With the recently announced and expanded partnership between Disney and Epic Games, it was confirmed that Epic’s Unreal Engine will be used to bring to life these newest adventures.

Interestingly, the timeline for The Mandalorian film and series is at odds with the timeline originally established for the land set during the sequel trilogy films. It seems we may be seeing other additions to Disney’s massive Star Wars themed lands in the near future that should make fans quite happy.

New missions will be added to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu.
