Today’s the day that Disneyland resumes Magic Key annual pass sales but many guests who diligently logged on 15 minutes before 9am today as instructed by the official Disney buying guide only to find endlessly looping loading screens and error messages featuring Goofy and the Seven Dwarfs promising they’re working on the issues.

We found a way to get into the queue to purchase tickets! Here’s how to do it if you’re trying to make a purchase of a brand new Magic Key today.

EDITOR’S NOTE: At approximately 9:40am the purchase queue seemingly opened to allow guests to begin making purchases and wait times on virtual queue pages were given.

Many fans were greeted with error messages from visiting the Magic Key official site but we figured out a work around!

How to Join the Magic Key Queue

While most people are logically visiting the Magic Key website from their browsers (and encountering errors), we found success instead by following these steps.

  1. Open Disneyland app
  2. Search “magic key”
  3. Click “Magic Key Program”
  4. Scroll towards the bottom of the page and click “Purchase Magic Key Passes.

Alternatively, you should be able to join the virtual queue by clicking the below link directly.

How to Buy Magic Key

Once it’s your turn in the purchase queue — if any passes are still available — you’ll have 10 minutes to enter the site. Entering the site does not guarantee the ability to purchase any Magic Key pass.

  • IMPORTANT: Make sure your device volume is on and loud enough to hear as the website will make a chime sound to indicate your turn has started. As a reminder, you only have 10 minutes to make your purchase from the time you hear the chime and enter the purchase portal.

As a reminder, new pass sales are available online only so you cannot go to a Disneyland ticket booth to make your purchase.

How Long Will I Wait?

The estimated wait times shown on the page are only a guide; most guests will see “more than an hour” listed which could mean anything from literally an hour to 8 hours or longer. It’s also important to know:

  •  New pass sales will be paused each night at 10:00 PM Pacific Time.
  • Guests will remain in the queue overnight, as long as they remain connected to the network and keep their browser window open.
  • Pass sales will resume no earlier than 9:00 AM Pacific Time, the following day.

See it for Yourself
